Key Performance Measure:
Adhere to precision engineering standards with duties such as:
- Parts stripping
- Condition monitoring reports
- Fabrication
- Refurbishing the equipment
- All on mining equipment and undercarriage
- All required for a fitter position, how to operate the tools an equipment needed to complete the job.
- Preferably three within the industry

Responsible For
- To fabricate, strip and report on mechanical equipment for mining operations
- Fits fabricated metal parts into products and assembles metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
- Checks fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
- Diagnoses faults and performs operational maintenance of machines and overhauls and repairs mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel where required
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks provide technical assistance as required
- Work with other personnel to maintain DFI equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and standard
- Carry out work and inspections of work in accordance with QA requirements and the relevant codes and industry standards
- Assist he foreman with job timing, work scheduling, work instructions ad job plan recommendations in relation to work practices
- Improve quality and increase productivity and reduce costs
- Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and components as required
- Diagnosis and fault finding of malfunctioning mechanical systems, equipment and components
- Routine maintenance, lubricant and repair of schedules of parts and equipment/ machinery
- Effective repair using techniques including MIC/MMA/TIG welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals, fabrication skills, manual machining skills, milling and bench fitting and assembly
- This role interacts internally with: management, colleagues, assistants
